Adam Marcus Co-Authors Drawing Codes Book

October 17, 2024

Adam Marcus, together with co-author Andrew Kudless, has recently published the new book Drawing Codes: Experimental Protocols of Architectural Representation (Applied Research and Design). The book examines the effects of computation and digital modeling on the architectural discipline and explores how architects have critically integrated procedural thinking into their drawing process. It include 96 commissioned drawings by architects and designers exploring the relationship between computation and representation, as well as an introductory essay by the authors and four critical essays by Ila Berman, Sarah Hearne, Amelyn Ng, and John McMorrough. The book builds upon the series of exhibitions that has traveled to nine venues nationally.

Marcus and Kudless will be presenting the book at a series of upcoming launch events in the coming months, including at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, the University of Houston, and Tulane University in New Orleans.
